1. Purpose
This document describes how Colonela protects documents, messages and work products in a case. Colonela is a technical client tool and does not replace a lawyer or their professional duties.
2. Encryption and current limits
Transfer between the device and the service is protected by TLS and stored data is encrypted by the infrastructure providers. End-to-end encryption with a key held solely by the client is not active yet; under exceptional controlled circumstances the operator may therefore be technically able to access content.
3. Access and audit trail
Access is granted to a specific case and by role. The client, supervisor and other invited people receive only the permissions needed for their work. Material changes, communications and access actions are recorded so it is possible to establish who acted and when.
4. Safe handling
Users must not share login codes, passwords or documents outside the intended case. Suspected misuse, incorrect access or a security incident should be reported without delay to info@colonela.com. Sensitive materials should not be sent by ordinary email.
